Volunteering via the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme is open to anyone between the age of 14 and 25 years. There are 3 levels: bronze, silver and gold, and for each one activities must be completed in four sections
- Service
- Skills
- Physical Recreational
- Expeditions
Volunteering at a Riding for the Disabled Association Group is an excellent way of completing the Service section. Over the years the group has welcomed many such volunteers. It is not uncommon for them to find their involvement so rewarding that they continue to volunteer after completing the award, although this is by no means a condition of getting involved.
